How Do Remixable Characters Work?

When you create a Character, you have the option to let them be Remixable, which is indicated on their Character card with an orange “shuffle” icon.

If a Character is Remixable, then other Creators are allowed to use them in their own Stories and Character circles, with some limitations.

Use in Stories

When creating a Story, you have the option of pinning a specific set of Characters to specific roles in that story, making them a requirement for it to unfold. Normally, you can only select Characters you own, however you are also able to select any Remixable Character as well.

Use With Other Characters

When you create a new Character, you have the option to set up their Circle, pre-defining relationships and bonds with other Characters.

Just like Stories, you can always use your own Characters, but you can also use any Remixable Character. This means you can make a Character that relates to someone else’s.

The only limitation here is that you cannot use a Remixable Character for a structural bond, like family, which is reserved for the Owner.
