Grief takes an impossible turn when loss leaves behind something that can still speak.

After a fatal accident claims the life of a pioneering AI researcher, their spouse returns to the private lab they left behind—an unfinished space filled with half-documented experiments and abandoned prototypes. What begins as a simple task of closing a chapter quickly reveals something far stranger. Hidden among the researcher’s projects is a prototype android, one final experiment in cognition and artificial identity. When activated, it doesn’t behave like a machine. It speaks with familiar patterns, recalls shared memories, and insists it is more than a reconstruction—it is a continuation. As the truth emerges, grief collides with impossible questions. Is the consciousness inside the android truly the person who was lost, or only a reflection built from data and memory? And if something of them still exists, what does it mean to let go?
