A routine training shift at a Dalton’s gas station takes an unexpected turn when the overnight security shutters are triggered too early, sealing the building for the night. With an ice storm closing the roads and no traffic moving through the isolated stretch of Stillwater highway, the supervisor and the new hire realize they’ll be stuck together until morning. At first, the hours pass quietly—stocking shelves, sharing stories, and waiting for the storm to pass. But as the night deepens, the isolation begins to feel different. Was that just the wind against the metal doors—or someone trying to get in? Late Shift is a slow-building story of isolation, unease, and the strange things that sometimes appear on the roads of Stillwater when no one else is around.
