ReelPlay is now Myrlo

We've reached an important milestone. ReelPlay is now Myrlo, and we're launching with key improvements that make exploring AI narratives more seamless.

Signal Shift

When we launched, ReelPlay served as our placeholder while we built the core system. The movie studio theme worked initially—you were "casting" AI characters into stories on virtual "sets"—but we discovered it sent mixed signals. Users expected video generation when our real strength is interactive narrative exploration.

Another AI company launched with the same name during our review process. Perfect timing to choose a name that better reflects what we've built.

Welcome to Myrlo

Myrlo represents what we do: create narrative simulations where you explore handcrafted stories with AI companions. We've moved beyond film metaphors to a cleaner interface that matches the actual experience—navigating story layers with characters you select.

Our approach is intentionally curated. Rather than asking you to build from scratch, we design detailed narratives with adaptive elements that respond to your choices. You select from our roster of AI companions and explore. The depth comes from replayability—take your preferred character into different stories, or experience the same narrative with different companions to discover how each interaction shifts the outcome.

System Updates

Here's what's improved in this layer:

Redesigned Interface: We've rebuilt the navigation and onboarding to get you into stories faster. The new system reflects our focus on exploration over creation.

Streamlined Process: We've removed the Reels currency system. Instead of watching ads to earn credits you spend later, you can watch an ad directly when you need to continue. You also get more interactions before any breaks, and the interface shows exactly how many remain.

Connected Networks: This is where things get deeper. We're introducing our Context Engine alongside our Story and Photo Engines. We're building unified layers across Myrlo's narratives—"Welcome to Blackthorne" and "The Hunger" both exist in Ash Hollow and now share story elements. Information you discover in one narrative can unlock new possibilities in others.

Next Steps

This evolution reflects our goal of connected storytelling where your stories build across multiple adventures. The Context Engine marks the beginning of a larger network where every story connects to something deeper.

We'll be analyzing how our narratives interconnect in an upcoming detailed post. For immediate updates, join our new Discord server, or check our roadmap to see what features are planned next.

For existing users, your progress and preferred characters transfer seamlessly. You'll find the same engaging narratives you know, now with a cleaner system and new connection layers.

Ready to proceed? Download Myrlo and unlock your next adventure. We'll be sharing updates through our blog, Roadmap and our new Discord server to connect with other explorers and stay current on what's next.

No filters. Just Stories.
